FAQ about vegan banana ice cream with carob

Can you freeze bananas without the peel?

Yes, you can freeze bananas with or without the peel without any worry. If you freeze them with the peel on, the outer skin will get dark in the freezer, whereas the inside remains the same. To freeze peeled bananas, just place them on a tray and stick them into the freezer until they are almost frozen, then transfer them to an air-tight plastic bag. These frozen bananas can be used for making delicious smoothies, ice cream, cakes, and muffins.

How long does homemade ice cream last in freezer?

You can store homemade ice cream in air-tight containers very conveniently, but no matter how air-tight your container is, storing homemade ice cream for a longer time will lead to it losing its texture and flavor. So to prevent your delicious homemade ice cream from getting degraded, it is best to not store it in the freezer for no more than a week or two.

Can banana make you sick?

Being rich in several nutrients, Bananas are surely one of the best fruits, but they also have some associated risks. Intake of too much potassium in bananas can harm those whose kidneys are not functioning well; this is because it can become difficult for the kidneys to get rid of excess potassium, which could be fatal for health. Moreover, bananas can also trigger allergies in some people.

Will banana cause constipation?

No evidence proves that bananas cause constipation. Actually, several studies show that bananas may either be a cause or relief for constipation depending upon their ripeness. Green unripe bananas can cause constipation, whereas ripe bananas can be a good way to relieve constipation as they are rich in soluble fiber that helps ease bowel movement.

Is carob better for you than chocolate?

Yes it is. Carob contains more carbohydrates and sugar than chocolate and is low in fat. Carob is also caffeine free, making it an excellent choice over chocolate for those allergic to caffeine and other stimulants. On the other hand, chocolate is full of mood-boosting compounds such as serotonin and endorphins, making chocolate eating feel so good.
